Jared Padalecki, one of the leading stars of CW‘s Supernatural, was arrested early Sunday morning in Austin, Texas on two counts of assault and one count of public intoxication.
According to TMZ, the 37-year-old is facing the charges after allegedly striking the bartender and general manager of Stereotype — a local bar and lounge where he’s known to be a regular.
Eyewitnesses told the outlet things got out of hand inside of the establishment when Jared allegedly punched the bartender in the face. The timeline of events is a bit hazy, as onlookers reported the actor hit the GM of the establishment at one point, too. They say a friend eventually took him outside and tried to calm him down, but the situation escalated from there.
Video obtained by TMZ shows Padalecki seemingly putting his pal in a headlock. In the clip, the situation goes from bad to worse after the police arrive and detain the Gilmore Girls alum, who can be seen pulling out a wad of cash and flashing it at the officers.
The move didn’t do much to help his case as he was later taken into custody with a bond set at $15,000 ($5,000 per charge against him). Jared’s already been bailed out, though, according to E! News, but an official court date has not yet been set to address the charges and the star’s rep has not returned any requests for comments thus far.
It should go without saying this entire fiasco is not a good look for the star! Getting into a drunken altercation with three people in one night at your favorite local bar is an easy way to get yourself behind bars, and most likely shunned from the place — unless you’re a celebrity, that is.
As we mentioned at the top, Padalecki is known to be a regular at Stereotype and his social media even suggests he might have close business ties to the 90s-themed hotspot, too.

There’s still no word yet if the bartender and general manager involved are going to press any additional charges against Paladecki or ban him from the bar for his actions. But we’d bet our wages he won’t be returning anytime soon until things cool down a bit.
